Saima's Airplane Skincare Regime

Hello there lovely people ~^.^~

As promised, here is a quick guide to my usual airplane skincare regime.

Long haul flights can make you feel pretty groggy, especially with the super powered air conditioning drawing out all of your skin's moisture, and not to mention the annoyingly limited leg space when flying economy. For me, the best way to make my ourney a little more relaxing is being fully equiped with my essential travel sized skincare and makeup goodies.

Hydration is the key to healthy skin throughout the flight so I always carry a bottle of water and ask the flight attendant for refills whenever possible. Some people turn to alcohol or caffeinated beverages to help them relax but if you want bright and fresh looking skin then I strongly advise not to go down that road and just stick to good old water (anything else will just add to the dehydration in the long run.)

Other than internal hydration, keeping your skin moisturised and hydrated externally is also very important. I usually don't wear any makeup until the airplane is about to land so that my skin can breathe and soak in moisture from the products that I apply during my flight.

As I travel a lot my products finish quite quickly, so I don't always take the same things. Generally I would carry some kind of facial cleansing wipes, a super hydrating moisturiser, lip balm, eye cream, spot cream and sheet masks.

Skincare Regime:

I start off by wiping my face with a facial cleansing wipe to remove any dirt/ oil that may have accumulated while waiting for my flight.

Then I apply a small amount of moisturiser all over my face and neck, followed by spot cream if I have any pimples at the time.

My eyes and lips can get pretty dry during flights even after applying a moisturiser as the airplane air soaks it all up pretty quickly, so I make sure to apply a thick layer of eye cream to my under eye area and generously apply lip balm to my lips.

I then relax, watch a movie or 2 (sometimes 3 hehe) and snooze for a while.

Half way through my flight, I repeat the whole procedure, then apply a sheet mask to my face and just relax until my skin absorbs all of the essence. If I am stoping over in another country before reaching my destination (which I usually do) I will carry 2 masks, one for the first flight and another for the next flight.

During my stop off I quickly go to the ladies room to freshen up, brush my teeth and use a gentle face scrub.

On the second flight I repeat everything, and during the last hour of the flight I like to apply makeup to look a bit more presentable for when I land.

A full list of specific products I have used during a recent flight can be found on my previous post 'What's In My Airplane Beauty Bag?'

Please note that this is just what I like to do on long haul flights (if I am not too tired and snoozing away as soon as I sit down lol). Also, everyone's skin is different so what works for me might not work for other people.

I hope this was helpful in giving a rough idea of what you can do for your skin during a flight.
Please leave a comment below and tell me about your airplane skincare regimes and what you like to do during long haul flights to unwind and feel relaxed.

bye guys :) ~~
